Mission Statement: (See Web Site For Updated Information)
The Coastal Medical Access Program (CMAP) is a non profit organization established in 2002 to meet the medical needs of the uninsured residents of Camden, Glynn, and McIntosh counties of Southeast Georgia . CMAP operates two free clinics in Brunswick and St. Marys, in addition to offering intensive case management and a prescription assistance program.

Primary and specialty care is provided by volunteer health care professionals both in our clinics and in the physicians private offices. CMAP is grateful to the actively practicing and retired volunteer medical providers (physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, and others) who share their support and experience.

New volunteers are always welcome to assist us in providing quality health care to the uninsured. CMAP welcomes volunteer physicians from all fields, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, nurses, and all other health care professionals. Additionally, non-medically trained individuals can also volunteer in different capacities. We make every effort to accommodate the needs of our volunteers.

Health Care Providers must be actively licensed in the State of Georgia. Practicing physicians must also be credentialed at The Southeast Georgia Health System.

Retired health care volunteers are also welcome, but must have an active license. Retired physicians may also apply for a Volunteer in Medicine (VIM) license from the State of Georgia.

For an application and general information on the VIM license please visit the Georgia Composite State Board of Medial Examiners website at: http://medicalboard.georgia.gov/vgn/images/portal/cit_1210/51/31/27777649VIM_Application.pdf

CMAP is fortunate to have the support of our local hospitals in the Southeast Georgia Health System (SGHS). Thanks to SGHS, and our many generous supporters we are able to provide for all aspects of medical care for our patients.
